Oil cooling
I am trying to get some information about the effectiveness of the various oil cooler components pelican offer. I am thinking of the cooling collar and the finned oil cooler pipes which run down the side of the 911.
Mine is a 74 carrera rs with 3.2 Carrera oil coolers added in the front right and left hand wheel arches.
I race it and am seeing temperatures 30 degrees centigrade above the 82 degrees centigrade temperature when the oil cooler line thermostat opens .
Do the collar and finned pipes really work , or are they actually completely ineffective? Does anyone have any figures for oil temperature reduction?
Any other suggestions gratefully received.
(We are restricted by the regulations as to the size of apertures we can have at the front feeding the front oil coolers with air. The duct openings can be no bigger than the extra driving lamp aperture in the lower valence)
