The Red Sox don't make player-for-player trades with the Yankees, and Ortiz is already signed to the Red Sox for pretty much the rest of his career. Not really too worried
Actually the kicker is that the Yankees could have had him in the 2002-2003 offseason. The Twins had put Ortiz on waivers. They just didn't want him.
Since the Red Sox "took a chance" on Ortiz in 2003, he has more RBI (and more game-winning hits, duh) than any other player in baseball. That includes A-Rod, Pujols, Manny, Guererro, and Bonds.
BTW, Ortiz already has 37HR and 105 RBI... and it's only August 1st... MVP?
