I agree. +1000
I have a mutt from the pound, no in-bred hip problems, no high strung nervousness, just a loveable dog and only wants to please and get and give affection and might not be around if I had bought a dog somewhere else.
My last 3 dogs have been pound mutts, all very good family pets.
Plus if by chance you get a dog from the pound that doesn't work out (like if he barks all night or something), you can usually take it back and get another one.
PS I just have to say, please do not get a pit bull. Even if you happen to be one of those tattoo'd wannabe bad boys who have to try and prove to the world you are bad because you have a bad dog, don't do it.
There are way too many good natured lovable dogs out there that won't bite your face off when you don't expect it.
Second PS:
If you have a pit bull and think it's a good dog, remember that lots of other owners thought their pit bulls were good dogs too, until they mauled a neighbor kid or ripped someone's face off.
Third PS: If any of you have tattoos all over your body and like the bad boy look, no offence. Just continue being an Oakland raiders fan. (that's an insult around these parts).
