A 1992 964 will have a redesigned head which includes a seal between the head and cylinder. This change came through in mid-1991.

The vent referred to goes between the distributor and the intake to pull ozone out of the dual distributor. (The ozone being bad for the belt that drives the second distrubutor.) Pelican sells a kit for $19. Very easy.

The 1992 will also have a later flywheel, so that should be O.K. The earlier cars had some problems with the Freudenburg DMF. I think they switched to the LUK for 1992 but this should be verified.

FWIW, I drive a 1991 with the original gasketless head design, and so far it shows no sign of leaking. I also have the original flywheel and it also works perfectly well. The '92 may have a couple appearance upgrades, aero mirrors and more stylish wheels.

A very good example could run you about $23,000.
