sounds like the last 4 years we had our beagle. old guy made it to 16yrs.

pissed off the cats every night when he would finish their dinner for them too.

my parents now are on their 2nd Australian Shepard in 3 years.
found a breeder that likes to adopt out ex-show dogs. never seen a better/mellow pair of dogs. keep dad company on his 2 daily walks 1-2hrs each. retirement got him in the best shape in years.

my Aussie doesn't show those traits at all. pure energy 24-7. but at least he stopped eating books after he was 6mo old.
