356 into ghia?

I stumbled upon a 356 engine for sale, and it would be really tempting to put it into my '56 ghia. I'm normally a 'keep it stock' kinda guy, but this is intruiging.

First off, what should I be looking out for on a 356 engine? The engine is out of the car, but 'it ran when it was pulled,' of course - don't they all? Rolling Eyes

I have a rig to start a VW engine on the ground - will it work on the 356 engine?

What else is involved in adapting the 356 engine to the VW transaxle - mine has already been converted to a tunnel case.
