Ferrari road rally attracts state troopers, tickets
Tuesday, August 08, 2006
Oregon State Police disrupted a rally of Ferrari vehicles Monday west of Sisters, citing at least six drivers for speeds ranging from 83 to 98 mph.
The troopers stopped the vehicles on U.S. 20. They said several other high-speed vehicles apparently were involved in what organizers called the Ferrari Challenge Rally: The Rally of Northern Oregon.
State police said troopers came from the Bend area in response to numerous complaints about dangerous driving of Ferrari vehicles, including speeding, risky passing and reckless driving.
Participants in the rally reportedly traveled from the Willamette Valley to Black Butte Ranch west of Sisters.
