I've seen plenty of stupid moves on so called "fun runs".
I just let em go and try to line up near the back of hte pack so i can let them go without getting in the middle of the someone's third childhood.

Believe it or not it isn't usually the novices getting in over their heads, it's the hard core experienced guys who have plenty of track experience and like to make vroom vroom noises and they pretend they are Mario andretti.

I have been known to get on boost on the street occasionally just to blow the carbon off the pistons, but I pick and choose the situation very carefully. I think about it beforehand and try to use logic instead of emotion to make my decisions.
A long straight with limited and controlled risk is a must. Even then I accelerate and then back off to a reasonable speed and cruise.
