15 year olds are given far greater legal latitude than most would ever believe. Ask any parent that has tried to deal effectively with a problem teenager. I have seen it time and again within my circles. Truant kids, sexually active kids, drug abusing kids, kids failing in school, not coming home, etc. The parents have almost no authority to deal with them. These kids are taught this in school; at times it seems as though the only lessons the problems kids learn are these. They know their rights and they know their parents' rights, better than their parents know them. I find it remarkable that anyone can express outrage over this 15 year old's actions, much less the adults involved. These kids are legally "adults" in so many ways that they really are not prepared for, so why get so hung up on sex? Everyone draws the line somewhere; everyone wants to "limit personal freedom" to a level that suits them. Even liberals.

Jeff, I couldn't agree more. Our government schools are open sewers that we toss our chilren and our money into. The more parents who discover this, the better!
