You should not be using a soldering gun. Many of them use the tip as part of the circuit on the secondary transformer. This can apply dangerous voltages to the circuits you are soldering.
A small soldering iron is what I would reccomend, especially one with a fine tip for electronics work.

That said, megasquirt is cool
I am going to purchase a smaller soldering gun. This big motha is hard to handle while doing this small work. I will be checking the power supply shortly to make sure everything turned out all right.
