the $7k may not be unreasonable..it all depends on what will be replaced while going in and redoing the valve/valve guides. There are people on this forum that know 1000 x more than myself. I did my own top end rebuild and spent about $6k, but I replaced just about as many things possible.... clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throughout bearing, upgrade clutch arm pivot, cam chains, cam sprockets, ramps, refurb pistons and cylinders, all new engine sensors, not to mention serti cut the valve seats, new valve guides, new valve springs, refurb rockers and shafts, touch up cam, new engine tin seal, powder coat engine tin, bead blast and clear coat fan and fan housing and AC pump mounts... and I'm forgetting so many items...oh forgot.. rotor, cap, plugs, belts, all sorts of gaskets.. I guess it depends if your going to just go in and fix one particular item to just get by for now, maybe everything else is fine
