oh, this is the 1.7 - the 2.0 is sitting on a dolly waiting for new heads - seems to be where most of my engines sit
i agree with you that the symptoms say rich, but an inspection of the plugs definately says lean. confuses me. plus it seems to be only a problem when its warm, making it a real pain to work on.
