If you're set on a 5 sp, I would hold out for a 5 sp. They are out there, so no problem finding one, just the right one for your budget. I've always been a manual tranny guy, but just bought an '85 with an auto tranny and love it. But I do drive in traffic a lot. I use it as my daily driver and its a lot of fun.
However, when I'm not in traffic I'm always thinking how much more fun the car would be with the 5 sp.
When I bought my car, I was new to 928's and found one in excellent shape, especially considering my budget, so bought it thinking if I was unhappy with the auto I could sell it no problem. Now that I have it I love it.
Just deciding whether to buy a 5 sp now, or convert mine to a 5 sp. I'd really like to have one of each though, just can't afford that right now.
