I donīt think it matters. However, if you do an oil change at the same time, its possibly better to do it before the long parking period. Fresh oil will be good for the internals during the winter. The actual valve adjustment timing is probably not relevant. Whenever the appropriate mileage occur - as of factory manuals 15k miles.
