I don't know a single shop/mechanic in the Orange/Riverside area I would trust or want any of my p-cars to go to. 95% of them are parts changers these days. I do all of my own repairs and sometimes have help from other 944 owners that live in the area. I know one guy in LA who has a shop and he is one of the only that I would let take a wrench to my car if I wase'nt able to do the job myself. If you would like to get in touch with him shoot me a pm.
I really think your best bet is to take the time and do it yourself.
Back to the statement to trading your 944 for a Carrera GT. I'd do the trade, enjoy the CGT for a bit then sell it and have the cash to by MY 944 back.
