Back to the question at hand..

G-man,

I don't know a single shop/mechanic in the Orange/Riverside area I would trust or want any of my p-cars to go to. 95% of them are parts changers these days. I do all of my own repairs and sometimes have help from other 944 owners that live in the area. I know one guy in LA who has a shop and he is one of the only that I would let take a wrench to my car if I wase'nt able to do the job myself. If you would like to get in touch with him shoot me a pm.

I really think your best bet is to take the time and do it yourself.

Back to the statement to trading your 944 for a Carrera GT. I'd do the trade, enjoy the CGT for a bit then sell it and have the cash to by MY 944 back.
Good call.........with just the ignition keys of the Carrera GT you could buy another 944. The keys cost $4000 to replace.
