Actually, they don't have to be ugly. Here is an electric car by a company called Tesla motors at
http://www.teslamotors.com/ which was discussed in a number of OT threads recently...The car is a dead sexy two seater that does 0-60 in four freaking seconds and has a range of 250 miles. It charges up in about three hours so you can plug it in over night.
