My '95 Dodge Dakota died about 2 weeks ago: The engine blew at 134,000 miles. A mechanic friend of mine checked the engine to see if it was salvageable, and also checked the tranny fluid. It was the worst tranny fluid he'd ever seen. That's funny, I said, I get it changed at Oil Changers fairly regularly. No, he said, it's never been changed.
I guess if I can handle 12 quarts of waste oil when I servive my P-car, I can handle a lot less oil on the other cars. The Dodge is history, the Tristar is the new truck.
