In other words, it appears that the majority sees things as "bad", even though most of us live in a relatively insulated environment, separated from the ills that are evidently all around us and, according to some, right over the horizon.
I watched a program on Pompeii tonight. I wonder how many of them died because they were in denial, even though they were still in the throes of rebuilding after seismic activities in their recent past....In retrospect, I think most would, if they could, say "I shoulda seen it coming.." (in Latin, of course)
