Let me begin by saying that I am glad it was a dud. No damage, nobody hurt, its good.

HOWEVER- the way the news covered it, with all of the hype, you would think armageddon was coming. This was my first storm, so I bought into it. By about halfway through yesterday, I would be watching reporters telling people it was dangerous outside and see pictures of seemingly dramatic rainfall. I would then look outside and see nothing. By the end of the day, I went to the beach and went swimming in the ocean. It was choppy. It was breezy, and sometimes the rain sprinkled.

I know that these storms are 'unpredictable', but if a storm is 20 miles away, and has 40 mph winds and moderate rain, its safe to say that it cannot become dangerous over 2 hours. But then again, that wouldn't be interesting news would it?

The good news is that I bought I sweet flashlight as a birthday present to myself. 6D batteries, MagLight, good for blinding and beating perps (or for safety, as I told my wife).
