I have had the same unit (30gig video) for almost a year now. My OS is Winblows XP Pro. I had simular problems with the Itunes software at first. It turned out not to be the Ipod or the software for it that was the problem. I was running Norton Internet Security 2005. That was the problem. After uninstalling the Norton everything worked perfectly.
