In polycarbonate, some brands produce less distortion than others, Resolution is a good brand that is usually well tolerated.
In non-polycarbonate, a plastic with a 1.6 index of refraction provides excellent optics with little distortion. Seiko 1.6 Diacoat is a good brand.
