I really don't understand why people keep calling for a draft and "more boots on the ground" in Iraq. Do you guys really think you know more how to fight this...or any war...than the Generals in charge? We currently have no problems killing any bad guy we want in Iraq or Afghanistan...our problem is identifying which ones are the bad guys since they wear civilian clothes and hide among women and children whose safety we are much more concerned with than their own men are. If we increase the boots on the ground...all we do is provide the terrorist more and denser targets (which is exactly what suicide bombers want) so the body count would probably go up.
I also cannot imagine how a draft would somehow increase support for the war. It seems intuitive that it would do exactly the opposite...as would throwing more money at the situation and ruining the economy would.
These are the same ideas that are being pushed by the Democratic leadership that wanted to go to war before they were anti-war. I guess that is why liberals cannot seem to get elected. Their ideas seem more geared to losing the war and ruining the economy than doing anything positive. They would rather hurt the nation than allow a conservative lead the country successfully.
