So my neighbor, who is a 10-year Vietnam vetran, former Navy SEAL (decorated numerous times) and who subsequently worked for the U.S. Marshalls should be considered a "traitor" too? He deeply regrets many of the things he did in 'nam (he's told me a few stories that are pretty hairy) and thinks it was a "stupid war". At this point (having just turned 60) he's seeking some redemption in his life for a lot of the things he did and says he often regrets his service.
I doubt his sentiments are all that uncommon. Are these people all "traitors" or have they simply seen the reality of war for what it is and years later (after they've had time to digest what they participated in and overcome the military brainwashing) feel guilt, shame, remorse and disgust at what they did? Perhaps Kerry and some others just got to that revelation more quickly than some others. . .

If he aided the enemy like Kerry did....he certainly is.

Some are born free. Some have freedom thrust upon them. Others simply surrender
