The mark on the housing will approximately line up with the cam sprocket mark. The only way to be sure you are at TDC is to remove the #1 plug and put a dowel (or screwdrived) in the hole and rotate the cranksaft to find your high point. My TDC is not quite at the point where the two marks line up. I dont remember which way the distributor face at that point sorry. at least the #1 plug is easy to get to.
