My rule-of-thumb is to do only 'period correct' modifications. I'm sure there were many 69/70/71 911 owners installing S bumpers in 72 & 73! Nonetheless, I have been second-guessing myself on the installation of the S bumper as well. My big problem is with the bumper guards - I hate those things! I suppose if I take them off there will be some exposed mounting holes or something.
