I'll bet Sandy was recalling how Reno got hung out to dry with the Waco fiasco. Clinton was not willing to back him.
For the response, seems like we are working on it, but it is a difficult situation. Bunch of people hate us and are willing to die to try and kill us. They are smart and hide well amongst innocents. You can't catch or kill many of them at once without killing innocent people as well.
Even if we bombed Israel for them, they might ignore us for a decade or so and then come back at us with renewed strength. After all, we are infidels and they get to go to heaven for killing us.
What response do you think would work better?
