Previous agreements with the UAW make it VERY difficult. Should it be? Different discussion. But it IS, and it looks like Ford is going to pay through the nose ONCE to save it's butt many times over. If this is true, and if they are successful, it may break the back of the UAW and allow US automakers to be competitive.
