This provides a great opportunity to purge a bunch of junk - donate it, sell it or leave it behind.

You have kids and the one thing that helps them (but not you) is to have them help pack their stuff. It won't make any sense and they will put a small stuffed animal in a huge box and refuse to put anythying else in there but this activity helps them deal with the move otherwise your gonna have whinny kids and a wife that is getting more and more frustrated.
