I have a 2.7 liter engine that needed to be rebuilt for pulled head studs. I had timeserts installed for this.
Would timeserts have any effect on the case? Would they cause any fatigue or would they strengthen it?
The first rebuild had an oil leak due to the crank case not being ventilated.
When they were assembling the engine for the second time they discovered an under spec main bearing clearance. This was not present on the first rebuild.
Any ideas what would have caused the under spec main bearing?
The case required line boring. In Wayne Dempsey, How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines, he talks about machining each case half and reboring all bores. Can you give me the names of the companies that do this?
I still have an oil leak I would like to resolve.
