There are a lot of things to see and do - of which they will all turn up in any tourist brochure.
Personally, I would spend some time along the coast line. It has a wonderful archipelago just outside the city. If the weather is good that would be the highlight of any trip to Göteborg, IMO. Places like Smögen and Lysekil, small fishing villages, are famous and very popular during the summer. Extremely good kitchen with all kinds of fish and shellfish fresh from the sea. Very picturesque and worth wile. Particularly for someone that does not live on the coast line at home.
