As someone who has had a photo stolen and used -- uncredited -- in a TV show, I have some sympathy.
But in reality, only the good guys will react appropriately and remove images. Putting an image on the Internet is to lose control over it. so I only publish small, low-resolution or "stamped" images if I'm concerned about rights. It also allows me to not look like an a-hole because I don't have to chase down people this way. Unfortunately, as a copyright holder, if you do not chase people down, you lose control.
Incidentally, copying an image like that and putting it on another public forum can be considered "fair use."
