I am planing my February vacation and one of my favorite places is the central coast of Calif. Of the central coast towns I like Morro bay the best. I have tried Ventura, Santa Barbara, Pismo, Cayucous, Cambria, Monterey, but Morro seems to have the best (for me) balance of laid back attitude, mother nature, and yet a nice variety of food and drink within walking distance plus other outdoor activities a short drive away. I have been there a bunch of times however I know there are some pelicanheads living in the area and/or some that may have visited the town who may have some interesting suggestion.
I have previously stayed at the Morro Inn - nice but pricey are too far out of town, good place to take a girlfriend but I don't know what the girlfriend status will be in February.
Tradewinds - Okay but nothing special (good location).
San Marcos - Nice but mostly an upgraded Best Western (good location)
Rented a condo - Very Nice (across the street from San Marcos) but pricey.
I am thinking of trying something different but nice, I have always wanted to try the Embarcadero or the Blue Sail Inn, I may check the Breakers also.
Your input is appreciated,
Scott
