According to BA's book, the Carreras had thicker rotors front and rear than the SC's. Carreras also had larger rear caliper pistons.

At first, I thought something was off about the difference in cost btwn SC & Carrera. So I went on PP and I found this:

Ferodo, Front Brake Pad Set, Steel 'A' Caliper, 911/912E (late 1975-83)
PEL-PP-901811 $40.40

Ferodo, Front Brake Pad Set, 911 Carrera (1984-89)
PEL-PP-901815 $141.55

There is a huge difference in price.

Then I found that one set that fit both SC's and Carreras.

BHP Performance Brake Pad Set - A Caliper, FRONT 911 (1974-89)
BHP-S0011 $156.75
