The time spent debating, getting estimates, is wasted. Sorry to say but consumer electronics like this are disposeable. Memory sticks and all. I got a 5.1 MP Nikon and a 1GB SD card for under $300 at BestBuy. In and out in 30 minutes. Done.

I guess I learned my lesson after I spent $350 to fix an old video camera that worked for a month or two before it broke again. I could have bought a new camera with mfr warranty for a bit more. Never again.
