Byron Nelson Passes
One of the great figures in golf has passed. Byron Nelson was a consummate pro and ambassador for the greatest game there is. He always was there to greet the winner of the Byron Nelson Classic in Dallas and greeted every player on the first tee on the first day of the Masters.
NPR had a piece on him this morning, last year as Tiger Woods shook Mr. Nelson's hand before his first round he said "Mr. Nelson, the Masters wouldn't be the Masters without you here."
