It's amazing how arbitrary some of the drills are they put you through.
Although not current, this is a funny one. While departing Key West airport in May 02, my camera bag was searched, and the screener was all upset at the numerous books of matches that I had in there. Of course, these were taken as souvenirs from the numerous drinking establishments we had visited.
I was told that they couldn't be in the camera bag, but could only be on my person. So with that, I pull about 25 match books out of said bag, and stuff them in my pants pocket. Satisfied, the screener lets me walk away.
I guess I missed the purpose of that rule.
