i've been working off and on on my river tank (see
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=283934&highlight=tank ) but needed more room for my oscars sooner then later.
so i picked up a nice 75 gallon tank locally cheap to sit next to my other 75 gallon.
the old 75gal stand was too low, meaning you'de have to duck down to see in, so i made the new stand eye level.....sure i need to stand on somthing to even think about reaching in the tank, but oh well

the filtration system i built from scratch using a nice sealable 55 gallon plastic barrel and pvc. i also made overflows/prefilters from pvc (my tanks aren't drilled), premade overflows are $50 each on fleabay, i made them for $30 each plus an additional $30 in plumbing to make either work.
the overflows drain into the sump barrel which filters through 5 stacked 5gal buckets which hold filter substrate, submersible pumps send water back to the tanks.
the stand, rear overflow chambers, plumbing.
the in-tank prefilter, connects to the rear overflow box via U-tube
both tanks up and running, the stand will be boxed in from floor to ceiling, this will hide my lighting, the white bulbs are daylight, the single blue bulb is moonlight....all lighting controled by timers.
