You are right about that. Too bad we don't have AVE, TGV or ICE over here. Just the other day I hopped on a flight to Vegas (from Phoenix) and thought about how ridiculous it all is. To leave at least an hour before the flight, then go through a minimum of half an hour to find the luggage after the flight. All for a flight lasting less than an hour. I won't even go into the fuel waste. Then the cherry on top which is security. Meanwhile, if I were in Lyon or Frankfurt, I just get the ticket, say, 15 minutes before the train leaves, sit on a far more comfortable seat, leave on time every time, eat better food, be able to stand around for as long as I want without some asswipe flight attendant telling me to return to my seat, no security bull*****, no luggage check in, but best of all, better view. And I have never been late on any of those 3. My mother was late once while on TGV. By 5 minutes. I tell you, our transportation system is right up there with our health care system.
