The cool thing about the Sony burner is not only can you hook up a video camera and make DVD's but you can plug up anything with a Analog or s-video output like a VCR and I have even hooked up my satellite to it as well and recorded straight off the sat receiver. You can even hook up a dvd player to it - not that I would do that but.......its very flexible
