What would you have had him say? Afghanistan and Pakistan are about as close to allies as we have in the region. Bin Ladin is widely thought to be hiding in Pakistan, cutting ties with Musharraf sure wouldn't help us find him.

During the Cold War, the US President would still shake hands with the Russian leader.
It seems like you look at every single thing Bush does and say "God, what the hell is he thinking?" This time he did it correctly.
I guess if Bush had not met with either of them he would be accused of being isolationist and not reaching out to our allies in the world...
