Soliciting opinion on the following.

a quick update-

recently started a new private sector job i have found less than desirable, this after leaving a public job i was reaching 10 years at. i was not enthralled with the public gig i left let the record reflect, so looking to be reinstated is not an option.

jump ahead four months-

i am currently interviewing with a very local public agency (my last gig was 40 miles each way). having made it through the 1st round of interviews i have scheduled an interview time slot i can not make without jeopardizing my current job. i was able to get the time off early last week to attend the 1st board of guest interviewers from other public agencies and a member of the public. this second interview is with city staff, that in theory should be a more flexible board and have the ability to assemble much more effectively on a whim. maybe not on a "whim", but you get my point

so this is wherest i lay. i am considering calling the HR lady tomorrow and telling her i cant make the 930 without compromising my current gig, that an 830 would be my only option, unless they wanted to reschedule later in the week. the boards start at 9am tuesday so my current 930 is the 2 slot. here's the pelican tie in:: if they want to see me fridee i will be a sears point with track masters turnin' laps... actually any time off next week will be tough. the 830 works because i have a must attend meeting at 10 some 20 miles from the interview local, away from my office and could camouflage that sufficiently to have that fly.

my credential are sound for the position, should i let them speak for themselves? i figure if they REALLY want to see me maybe they show that by getting a bit flexible. public agencies are not know for their flex so this a dice roll to say the least. if they flex that also shows their card's in that they find me attractive enough to see me on my terms, like an ugly chick might..

what say yee?
