Here's a different tactic. Tell the interviewers that the time of 9:30 will not work because you are currently employed at your current job, and you have a commitment to your current employer that you do not want to break, and you do not feel comfortable calling in "sick" to take the time off, as the people at your current job really rely on you. If the people you are interviewing with don't understand this, and don't share the same ethic, then you probably don't want to work there regardless.
