A six in these cars makes for a pretty zesty ride. Numerous power plants find their way into these cars. The most common is a Type 1, or Type IV. If you are going Type IV, buy a Raby engine. I've gone on tour with a couple of guys with the Raby Type IV - they are good solid powerful engine with a deep gutsy exhaust sounds.
Lot of other engine options. The six is one (and if you love 911's its probably the one for you) but does offer some fitment issues whereas the air cooled fours are bolt-in easy.
Also a number of subaru powered ones. Imagine a WRX-STI engine in this car! I know its a water pumper, but it fits in pretty easily even with the radiator. Goes like stink. There are also people using Alpha flat four, rotary, and one crazier than I fellow who has crammed a northstar v8 into his.
Our car is not a Beck, its a Thunder Ranch. The Thunder Ranch offers the six as a kit or partially assembled all the way to turn-key. This maker also offers a wider body that allows 225 tires to fit under the shell.
