Most turbo enthusiasts don't understand that a turbo charged engine is essentially a variable displacement engine. The more boost you run (varries with RPM etc), the more air you pack in and the engine puts out like a bigger engine. Those are the basic thermodynamics of it. I realize there is more too it than that but if you pack twice as much air into your 3.0 Litre engine, it should make as much power as a NA 6.0L engine.
