The Grey and either Green or light blue Strip wires are the dash light wires. Brown for Ground. Many are Dazy Chained from one to the other gauge. Check for +12 on Switched on postion. There's a main Ground which I think on your 944 is under the Fuse/Relay box under the hood (Driver Side Firewall) Do your Open Door lights work? (overhead/trunk)

I think your fuse #11 is windshield wipers. Lots of problem with the switches themself going bad and needing replace on pre 85's. Not sure if same problem is there on yours.
