the pics on e-bay do not show a car even as low and aero efficient as my '72S targa which certainly was never able to hit 145 at any DE or 8500rpm.


stock '72S is redlined a@7200, stock rev limiter 7300, yes you can rev past that, a little

factory claims for top speed of a '72-73 S was 143mph

For Gawd's sakes Bill, don't confuse this Malibu guy with FACTS... According to him, I don't know Jack about the performance of a 2.4 S, because I quoted some C&D test results, which I agreed with. I guess having owned one since 1974 isn't a factor....
