Probably a west coast east coast thing.

For the record execmalibu did call me and we had a nice conversation. (it was great of em to call so quickly after I posted) My offer has been accepted and the 15th is not that far away.
I am no Porsche expert so I will leave the keyboard quaterbacking and such to those that are more suited for that. I for one have seen one to many of these threads get this point and then no closure is presented and I am also curious as to the out come.
I will bring my video camera and tripod and catch as much of the action that I can. This is a track day for me and I will be flogging the shyt out of my 911 trying again to grenade it. I will post what I can soon after.
I do not believe that 165 will be seen by em and his 911 targa on this track. It may be the fastest track in the west but 165 at Willow seems like a stretch for non-track prepped car since the straights are not long enough. I could be wrong as I can see 120-125 at the end of the front straight if I exit 9 just right. 165 is doable in the back straight thru 8, but again I think a little more aero would be needed then this 911 has as to not fly off into the gravel. I am more curious about 8500rpm which will be able to happen consistantly at this or any other track and the "pull" of the engine can also be experienced by those willing to put a C note on the line.
If no one steps up then I will have Jack Olsen who is the Chief Instructor for these events ride along with em for several laps and verify the 8500rpm or grenading, which ever come first.

So again, em has said that he will show up and anyone willing to put a C note up can verify his claims as to rpm's reached and engine strength. If no one shows up to question the validity of this then I will call upon Jack O to take a ride. I will book the spots with OTR the end of next week for em.

I truely hope this works out as it would be nice to see one of these "yes it can, no it cant" threads be put to rest. ( I am sure it wont be put it to rest either way but it would be nice)

disclaimer- this will not verify a "stock" 2.4S motor in any way, only if em's engine can see 8500rpm's over and over without grenading and "pull as he has said and others have indicated. I am no mechanic or expert in early aircooled 911 engines and I have never stayed at a HIE!!!

for those of you that have offered to help in terms of paying for the track day, lets just hold onto our wallets until the 16th of November.
Okay..16th of November. Dan, I'm posting this publicly so I can't chicken out...PM your address to me, put me down for $25. Way I figure it, it won't take too many others matching me to assure you won't be out of your own pocket. C'mon guys, we can do this...and even though my thrills will be vicarious ones through this board, it's well worth $25 to me!
