What he did say was that he went 165. Any reasonable person would deduce from that statement that he was looking at his speedometer.

The claim is in the original ebay posting. And yes, he does essentially claim (by his vigorous defence against all reasonable arguments/questions about said claim) that the car is indeed capable of a true 165. Since we all know that speedometers can be in serious error (ie 10%) the original poster's question was posed and the whole can o worms released.

And by the way, why all the vitriol directed to those with genuine questions? The claims seem farcical. The further assertion that this motor happened to come from the factory a little better built (because he got lucky) to the tune of 90hp (a mere 50% increase from the stock number give or take) just adds fuel to the fire.

Am I some great Pcar mechanic or racer, no. But anyone with any sense has got to have some questions about the claims made both here and on ebay.
