Good morning Gents. Just got back from a walk with the dog and thought I would check in.
So here is where I sit,
1) I have offered to pay for em to come out for the day (reg fees and 1 tank of gas).
2) He has accepted! (also said he would pay for it himself but I will stand by word on this)
3) Those willing to nut up and come out I look forward to seeing you.
4) This event is on a Wednesday! I run with OTR because of the midweek dates. It is easier to skip out of work (when your the boss) then to miss a weekend of family activities.
5) em has cleared his calender to come out mid week with a whats looks from pictures to be a extremely nice example of an early 911. So he is going to drive it to the track, flog it at the track, give people rides to prove what he has said (in the relm of tach readings and engine pull) and then drive home. He may have said some things that don't add up on paper but things get interesting in real life ( I have an engine that was built by a not so reputable builder that according to this board would blow up when I turned the key. It sees 7200-7500 every track day I attend. Its a 2.2T motor with those Zenith carbs. not recommending them at all but strange things happen in life)
6) Is the motor in this 911S completely stock. After re-reading this thread and talking to em I am going to go out on a limb and so no it is not (not much of a limb I know). Is it a proper case and MFI pump for said year, yes. What has been done internally and to the pump we wont know unless we tear into the engine. Not going to happen.
7) The date has been set and I am willing to wait it out until then to see the outcome. Im sure it will now only provide fuel for the fire.
em, I look forward to seeing you on the 15th and call me anytime to discuss this or any thing else. I am sure that all who attend will be sitting at the OutBack throwing back cold ones with you and laughing about this and talking about the days events.
Time for breakfast.
